The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates is taking a strategic step to strengthen its footprint in regional markets, choosing Jordan as a primary launchpad for its products into the Middle East. The move is backed by growth indicators showing more than a 30% increase in Egyptian food industry exports to Jordan

This milestone coincides with the group’s debut participation in the InftExpo 2025 International Food and Food Technology Exhibition, held in Jordan from August 12 to 14, 2025

Jordan: A Promising and Strategic Market

Ahmed Younis, representing the Egyptian Swiss Group’s Export Department during the exhibition, emphasized that Jordan is not merely a new export destination but a pivotal pillar in the company’s overseas expansion strategy, thanks to its geographic location linking it to multiple regional markets — from Palestine, Syria, and Iraq to Saudi Arabia

Younis noted that Jordan ranked seventh among Egypt’s largest importers of food products last year, with imports worth $247 million, marking a 32% increase. In the first half of this year, Jordan climbed to sixth place, importing $135 million worth of Egyptian food products, up 20%, underscoring robust demand and the market’s capacity to absorb more Egyptian goods

A Measured Expansion Strategy

He explained that the group’s approach in Jordan is to gradually increase its current — still limited — export volumes, focusing on pasta and concentrates as flagship products. This will be supported by a growing network of relationships with leading Jordanian importers and distributors

Building Partnerships and Exploring Opportunities

Abanoub Gerges, also representing the Export Department, described the exhibition as a golden opportunity to forge new partnerships and explore broader avenues of cooperation. This, he said, will enable the group to strengthen its presence in the market and open more sustainable export channels to neighboring countries

Jordan as a Regional Growth Hub

Gerges believes that success in Jordan will serve as a launchpad for expansion into wider regional markets. Jordan’s strategic location, dynamic trade infrastructure, and diverse distribution channels make it an ideal base for growth

Targeting a Broad Consumer Base

He added that Jordan enjoys high purchasing power, with sauces among its most imported products — a factor that gives the group’s portfolio a clear competitive edge

Gerges also highlighted the visit of Zuhair Harb, Director General of the Jordan Foodstuffs Traders Association, to the group’s pavilion, reflecting Jordan’s willingness to broaden cooperation and give greater shelf space to Egyptian products, known for their high quality and competitive pricing

About the Egyptian Swiss Group

Founded in 1995, the Egyptian Swiss Group began as a trader of grains and flour before evolving into one of Egypt’s largest food manufacturing entities

The group operates mills in Assiut, Borg El Arab, and 10th of Ramadan City, along with a pasta factory producing 8,000 tons per month, a sauce and concentrates facility producing 3,000 tons per month, and wheat silos with a 50,000-ton capacity.

It relies on advanced European production lines and fully automated manufacturing processes, with more than 80% of its output exported to over 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America
